Ever had one of those days as a homeschool mom where the kids are balking at their schoolwork, with one wanting to jump on top of the table and the other fall asleep doing her math, and you just want to run back to bed and take a nap? Yeah. Me, too.
I'd find it hard to make it through a full homeschool day without using essential oils on both my kids and myself. The first thing I do is start the diffuser. I love to use oils that are grounding. I don't need kids so calm they are asleep, but I don't want them bouncing off the walls either. I need them balanced. I need myself balanced, too, so I don't turn into that crazy homeschool mom. Something uplifting, but not too energizing, grounding, but not sleep-inducing...that's what I want in the diffuser. Some great examples are Balance, Citrus Bliss, Motivate, Cheer, Lavender/Peppermint/Wild Orange, Frankincense. The second thing I do is rub some InTune (the Focus blend) on the back of my kids' necks. There's a spot at the base of the neck right where there's a little indention that's the perfect place to apply essential oils that support the brain. A great focus blend helps the kids settle down and get to work. Sometimes (many times!) I need to use some focus blend to help myself stay focused on the home and not on Facebook. Anyone get that? :-) The third thing I do is take my vitamins. Lifelong Vitality and Mito2Max keep me from feeling the need to run back to bed for a mid-afternoon nap. Getting all the nutrients my body needs is helpful. My 14 year old takes a full dose of vitamins, too. I'd have younger kids on the children's vitamin. I wish I could say that we grew our own food and ate every single thing organic, but I can't. We live real around here. How about you? Would you like to try a sample of any of the oils I mentioned? It's grown to the point that they have to have it in two arenas. Though it sounds overwhelming, it really isn't. The company has it down to a science and everything moves quite smoothly.
doTERRA has published a great summary of the convention. For all the details, click here: http://doterra.com/US/en/blog/events/doterra-one-convention-recap I'll be sharing different things I learned and the new products over the next week or so. In the meantime, check out doTERRA's website. Also, check to see if a Post Convention Tour is coming to a town near you. Make a way to attend and bring a friend. It's worth it! http://doterra.com/US/en/post-convention-tour-2016 Rosemary is one of my favorite herbs to use in the kitchen and it's a great essential oil to use while cooking. Here are some recipes you can try with doTERRA's Rosemary essential oil:

The system has four parts and I love each one of them. The shampoo contains Wild Orange and Lime, plus gentle cleansers, to give you clean hair without drying the hair or stripping the color. The conditioner is silky and smooth and leaves my hair soft and manageable. The two products I hadn't been using until recently are the Root to Tip Serum and the Healthy Hold Glaze. There was a time that I didn't prefer the serum. Then at my last hair cut appointment, my awesome stylist (Hi Bonnie!) told me to not weigh my hair down with too much product. My hair is naturally curly and tends to have a mind of its own, so my tendency had been to try to reign it in with multiple products. She suggested a light oil, so that reminded me of the Root to Tip Serum. To use the Root to Tip Serum, I rub a few drops onto my scalp and then through the rest of my hair, giving my hair a very healthy feeling. (Plus it isn't falling out much anymore!) After that, I rub in a small amount of the Healthy Hold Glaze. (It's really thin, so be careful the first time you squeeze the tube, otherwise too much will come out.) I blow dry my hair and it lies smoothly where I want it and lasts all day. If I skip a shower the next day, a tiny bit of glaze smooths out the flyaways. If you order the hair care system on Loyalty Rewards, you get an awesome deal: just $77.50 for all four products. |
