Frequently Asked Questions
It's common to have a lot of questions when you are first exploring essential oils. I'll try to answer as many questions as I can here, but please feel free to contact me with more questions.
Is doTERRA an MLM?
Yes, doTERRA is set up as a multi-level marketing company, meaning the products are sold through independent Wellness Advocates (like me) and not in a retail store. The reason for this is education. doTERRA believes that customers can better learn how to use essential oils if they have a contact that can guide them. When you go to a health food store, you don't know the quality of the oils you are buying, plus you are on your own for learning how to use them. When you become a wholesale customer on my team, you get access to a wide range of training and benefits. HOWEVER, I am not an MLM'y kind of person. I won't try to get you to sell essential oils or even share them with your friends and family. To get doTERRA essential oils, you have to buy them through someone, so why not me?
How do I purchase essential oils?
The best way to buy doTERRA essential oils is with a wholesale membership. This is similar to a Costco or Sam's Club membership where you pay a small fee to get wholesale prices. You can get 25% off the retail price with a wholesale membership fee of $35 for the first year and $25 each additional year. You can buy at full retail prices (though you still buy through someone, so again, buy through me!).
Should I start with a kit or individual oils?
I highly recommend starting with a kit. That way you get a variety of oils from the beginning plus you get the $35 wholesale membership fee waived. However, if you want to pick and choose, you can pay the $35 wholesale fee and then pick and choose individual oils at wholesale prices.
What's your favorite oil?
Do I have to choose just one? I guess I'd choose the Balance Grounding blend because it keeps my moods balanced. I also really love frankincense, lavender, and vetiver, too, though.
